“Ishq Vishk Rebound”, a sequel to the 2003 Hindi-language romantic comedy film “Ishq Vishk,” has been released, and fans are loving it. Directed by Nupun Dharmadhikari, the sequel brings about modern changes to the plot as well as the soundtrack, promising viewers and audiences a fresh blend of modern music and decades-old nostalgia.

With over nine soundtracks composed by legendary music director Anu Malik, the film has raised some serious expectations for audiophiles across the nation. The main soundtrack album of the film, written by Gurpreet Saini, Kumaar, Gautam G Sharma, and Badshah and recorded by Rochak Kohli, Badshah, and Hiten, has audiences grooving to the music already.

The first single soundtrack, “Ishq Vishq Pyaar Vyaar,” lasts about 3:21 minutes, is a recreation of the original title track of “Ishq Vishk” (2003), and has been voiced by veteran Indian singers Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. The lyrics written by Sameer Anjan have reminded audiences about the melodious musical themes prevalent in the Hindi films of the 1990s and early 2000s.

The second soundtrack within the film is named “Soni Soni” and has been voiced by Darshan Raval and Jonita Gandhi, while Rochak Kohli directed the music. Written by Gurpreet Saini and Rochak Kohli, the song has topped the charts for two consecutive weeks and remains on the trending songs of the week list on Spotify. The project marks Darshan Raval’s latest release in 2024 since the explicit release of “Tu Hai” from the 2016 Hindi-action-drama film Mohenjo Daro.

The third soundtrack, “Chot Dil Pe Lagi,” is the first sad song in the film and the longest as well. Running at 4:45 minutes, the lyrics were written by Gurpreet Saini while Rochak Kohli directed the music, and Asees Kaur and Varun Jain lent their melodious voices to the track. The audio composition and sad air surrounding the soundtrack have resonated deeply with Indian audiences, striking many chords very close to home.

The fourth soundtrack, “Gore Gore Mukhde Pe,” is yet another recreation of Anu Malik’s debut soundtrack from the 1994 Hindi-action classic “Suhaag.” Audiences were quick to spot the similarities with the 1994 cult classic “Gore Gore Mukhde Pe Kala Kala Chasma,” which remains an evergreen Hindi favorite for many of India’s aging generations.

The new soundtrack, “Gore Gore Mukhde Pe,” was composed by Badshah while Hiten directed the music. The track, voiced by veteran singer and classical music director Udit Narayan, Badshah, and Nikhita Gandhi, has proved to be incredibly groovy to resist for current Indian audiences, regardless of age.

The lyrics of the fifth soundtrack, “Rehmat,” were written by Gurpreet Saini and Gautam G. Sharma and voiced by Jubin Nautiyal. Music director Rochak Kohli has done a wonderful job of blending themes of sadness and reconciliation that become more and more evident with each passing note.

The sixth soundtrack, “Jaavi Na,” was written by Indian lyricist “Kumaar” (Rakesh Kumar Pal) and directed by Rochak Kohli. Despite having sourced several tones and themes from the cult classics of the 1990s and early 2000s, the soundtrack comes across as a fresh listen for many audiophiles and netizens across the nation. Voiced by Darshan Raval and Jasleen Royal, the track promises a new innovative blend of nostalgia and present-day grooves that go surprisingly well together.

The seventh soundtrack, “Rehmat” (Rebound), was composed by Gurpreet Saini, while Rochak Kohli acted as the music director. Voiced by Rekha Bhardwaj and Rochak Kohli, the track is a mix of old-age nostalgia and reminiscent music of present-day Bollywood that stumps audiences within minutes of playing. Lasting 2:56 seconds, the song may replace many chart-busters currently doing the rounds on audio-streaming platforms.

The eighth and last soundtrack, named “Rehmat” (ALT), is the reprise version of the seventh soundtrack and consists of the same lyrics composed by Gurpreet Saini and Gautam G Sharma. Directed by music director Rochak Kohli, who also voiced the song, the track has delved deeper into the themes of friendship, love, and reconciliation, as apparent by the initial looks of the trailer.

“Ishq Vishk Rebound”, a sequel to the 2003 Hindi-language romantic comedy film “Ishq Vishk” (2003), stars Rohit Saraf (formerly “Rahul” in “Ludo” (2020)), Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, and Naila Grewal in lead roles. Deviating significantly from the usual trend of casting star kids in lead roles, the film is a debut for some of the freshest faces in Bollywood. The soundtrack is a blend of decades-old nostalgia and current-day music mania that has taken audiences by storm.
