The most recent episode of “Superstar Singer” Season 3, originally aired on June 30th, 2024, shares an action-packed round of battles between boys and girls that keeps everybody at the edge of their seats. This long-awaited episode pitted two of its bright prospects, Aryan and Khushi, against each other through their renditions of two very different yet equally invigorating songs, “Chaap Tilak” and “Aahu Aahu.” These acts were replete with talent and brought out both these budding singers in the most exciting musical duel.

Aryan picked up “Chaap Tilak,” which happens to be a classic Sufi qawwali authored by the great Sufi poet Amir Khusro. It is a song that contains immense intensity and spirituality with rich melodies, so it has been rendered by many legends of classical music and hence happens to be a favorite.

“Chaap Tilak” sounded soulful in the voice of Aryan in itself was an experience. He had that depth and emotion in his voice to do justice to such a great, soul-stirring Surat. Control over vocals and expression, bringing out the spiritual quotient of those lyrics, was done admirably by Aryan. His subtle nuances brought out the mystical charm of the song and made it resonate with the audience and the judges alike.

Aryan, with his calm and serene nature, went very well with the tranquil nature of the song. He took the stage attired in ethnic wear and conducted the show by drawing in the audience through his soulful performance into an atmosphere of devotion and reverence.

Aryan left the judges emotional with his performance. Neha Kakkar praised that he had taken care of the authenticity of the song but at the same time managed to add his personal touch. According to Pawandeep Rajan, Aryan was perfect in technique and added fodder to the sur with his feelings.

Salman Ali and Arunita Kanjilal pointed to his mature handling of such a complex piece to point out his range and potential. Khushi chose the high-energy Punjabi number “Aahu Aahu” from the Bollywood movie “Love Aaj Kal.” This song, sung by Neeraj Shridhar and composed by Pritam, is in itself extremely peppy and addictive.

“Aahu Aahu” has been performed by Khushi in a very lively and high-energy way, bringing out her great vocals. It was an admirable moment to see the way she maintained the pace of the song and expressed herself so powerfully with great enthusiasm. With a pencil in hand, running around playfully, and doing some fabulous vibes, this was indeed a very beautiful lively track to witness.

Pawandeep Rajan appreciated her for maintaining vocal consistency despite the challenging tempo. Salman Ali added to it by saying that she brought great fun elements on stage. Arunita Kanjilal added that there was so much radiated joy in the performance, which was adding to the impact of the rendition.

Aryan and Khushi both presented two contrasting styles of music and individual strengths. The soulful and spiritual rendition of “Chaap Tilak” by Aryan was delightfully in contrast to the energetic and full-of-life “Aahu Aahu” delivered by Khushi. Both contestants brought their flair on the stage, making it a tough pick for the judges and joyous for the audience.
